2018 Legislative Session Update - Video Poker

During the 2018 Legislative Regular Session the LVGA was successful in working with our lobbying team and the legislature to protect the video gaming industry, our employees, and our future.  With the passage of Senate Bill 184 by Senator Danny Martiny, we sucessfully implemented a law authorizing new technology and new games to be developed, and loosening restricrtions around burdensome fuel sales requirements.

Additionally, this year, we were successful in preventing a statewide smoking ban that would have been catastrophic to the video gaming industry, and the relocation of a river boat casino, which would have been detrimental to the video poker establishments in that area.

We appreciate the help of all of our membership in reaching out to legislators, and we certainly appreciate the support of all those in the legislature who recognize the video gaming industry as a productive and key component to the Louisiana economy.
